Valley Fiber Donates $500 to Support École Dugald School's Esport Team

DUGALD, MANITOBA — October 10, 2023 — Valley Fiber, a leading provider of high-speed internet and telecommunications services in Manitoba, is pleased to announce a generous donation of $500 to the ÉDS Dragons esports team at École Dugald School. This contribution will go toward the purchase of jerseys for the team.

Esports, a competitive and organized form of video gaming, has been gaining immense popularity worldwide, including here in Dugald. Recognizing the importance of supporting local youth and fostering their talents, Valley Fiber is proud to invest in esports and the ability for École Dugald School students to connect and compete with students from across the province.

The $500 donation will be utilized to create custom jerseys for the esport team, symbolizing their commitment and hard work. Nathan Koblun, Esport Director and Grade 7/8 teacher at École Dugald School, expressed gratitude for Valley Fiber's support, stating, "These students have worked hard and trailblazed a path for other Manitoba school programs to follow. Valley Fiber’s investment in our program acknowledges that effort, as well as their commitment to connecting families all over rural Manitoba with high-speed internet."

The ÉDS Dragons are looking forward to continuing their fundraising efforts and hope to be proudly sporting their new jerseys for their Provincial Finals tournament. The tournament will be hosted by the ÉDS Dragons on March 9, 2024.
