ÉDS Dragons Place 2nd in AA Division MSEA Rocket League

November 16: The MSEA Middle Years Rocket League Playoff Finals ran today with the ÉDS White and Green Dragons the only Dugald teams left standing.  Playing through a 14 team AA Division Playoff Bracket, both teams got to work dispatching their competition. The White Dragons defeated the John W. Gunn Wildcats and the Robert Andrews Red Rams, while the Green Dragons overcame the Edmund Partridge Suns Blue and the Lockport Maroon Lancers, only to find themselves standing across from each other in the semi-finals with a trip to the finals on the line.

 

The match was fierce and intense, and while the scoreline showed 3-0 for the White Dragons, the games were much closer.  The Esports Lab was filled with cheers, groans, strategizing, and finally handshakes as the White Dragons moved on to face the Chief Peguis Wolves in the final.

 

The finals showed a 3-0 scoreline but fails to show that 2 of those games went to overtime with one of them having a 2-goal lead erased in the final 30 seconds (including an amazing 0-second goal by Chief Peguis in the final game to tie and go to overtime).  Ultimately, while the fell, both the White and the Green Dragons have a lot to be proud of.  These two young teams chock-full of Grade 6 and 7 players will have a chance at redemption next year.

 

Congrats to the A Division Champions (Marion Mustangs), the AA Division Champions (Chief Peguis Wolves), and the AAA Champions (John Henderson Black Saints), for some exceptional play.  We encourage you to check out the amazing action.
