This has been one of the busiest and most rewarding weeks of esports our school has had this week, and we have so much to share!
First, we want to offer a HUGE thank you once again to Valley Fiber and Thom Brokerage & Consulting who supported us in acquiring our new esport jerseys! We were able to hand them out in time for our Week 3 action. They are incredibly eye-catching with names and numbers printed on the back. We are so incredibly grateful for this investment in this community that offers our students a safe place to make friends, compete, and learn about being a good digital citizen. Thank you to our sponsors, our school, and Akquire Clothing and Omla Designs for helping us with design and logistics, who worked together to send us an amazing product! Our students were so excited!
We also completed our third week of matches. We faced some adversity, as well as watched our first losses on stream, but the competition is improving around us and the Dragons felt the sting of loss this week. Still a combined 36-5 record, but only two teams remain undefeated going into the final week of round play. Top 2 teams in each pool make the playoffs, every other team has to go through the Wild Card Tournament on Thursday, February 29th to secure their spot in the Provincial Finals.
Speaking of Provincial Finals, École Dugald School will be hosting the finals this year on Saturday, March 9th! Doors open at 9:30am, and trophies will be awarded at 4pm. We are so excited to welcome schools from all across the province to compete with us, build community and share in our space. Looking forward to seeing the best that our province has to offer under one roof with 32 teams from across the A and AAA Division compete for trophies!
