Badminton Information
Badminton season has begun!
How badminton works at EDS:
- There are 5 different categories for students to sign up for within their grade level:
- Girls Doubles (2v2)
- Boys Doubles (2v2)
- Mixed Doubles (1boy/girl pair vs 1 boy/girl pair)
- Girls Singles (1v1)
- Boys Singles (1v1)
- Students will practice in their category and get a feel for the game throughout the month of March.
- After Spring Break, students will return and 'try out' for a spot on the team. Badminton is the one sport where we are limited to the number of players/teams we can bring to the tournament. Each category can have 2 teams per grade level, so a maximum of 16 students per grade may attend.
- When we say try out, we take into account: teachability, growth, commitment, scores between peers, and positive/negative attitudes.
Tournament:
We are planning to play our South tournament at Prairie Badminton in Winnipeg on April 30th, 2025. Crossovers will be at the same venue on May 7th.
