ÉDS Dragons Update: Provincial Finals & Spooky Car Contest!

What an exciting week for our ÉDS Dragons! With our Wild Card Tournament behind us and the MSEA Rocket League Provincial Finals just around the corner, we have plenty to celebrate and an important opportunity for our community to come together and support our school!

Here's the latest from the Dragons' den.

On Wednesday, November 4th, seven ÉDS Dragons teams took to the field for the MSEA Rocket League Wild Card Tournament, with four A Division teams and three Game Changers teams competing for the remaining spots at Provincials.

While our A Division teams came up short this time, we are incredibly proud of their efforts. ÉDS Green and ÉDS Blue were eliminated in the first round, while ÉDS Gold and ÉDS Orange battled their way into the second round before seeing their tournament runs come to an end.

There was plenty to celebrate in the Game Changers division! Two of our three teams secured their place at Provincials, with ÉDS Sapphire and ÉDS Ruby both qualifying for the Provincial Playoffs. ÉDS Teal fought hard and came just short of earning a spot.

We couldn't be prouder of all seven teams. Every student put the skills and lessons they've developed throughout the season on display, showcasing fantastic communication, teamwork, sportsmanship, and individual skill. Regardless of the results, these are the experiences and moments that make our program special!

With the Wild Card Tournament complete, we are excited to announce that ÉDS will be represented by FOUR teams at the MSEA Rocket League Provincial Finals!

Joining our newly qualified Game Changers teams, ÉDS Sapphire and ÉDS Ruby, will be our two AA Division teams, ÉDS Red and ÉDS Black. Both teams secured their playoff positions last week after finishing first and second respectively in their division!

All four teams will represent École Dugald School at the MSEA Rocket League Provincial Finals on Saturday, November 21st, hosted at Daniel McIntyre Collegiate Institute.

Having four teams represent our school at Provincials is an incredible accomplishment and a testament to the dedication of our students, coaches, and the families who support them. We can't wait to see what the Dragons can accomplish!

Now, here's where our entire ÉDS community can get involved!

The MSEA Haunted Halloween Spooky Car Contest officially launches on Friday, November 6th, and we need everyone to help the Dragons bring home the victory!

Our ÉDS students have been busy designing some wonderfully spooky cars, and MSEA will be hosting daily voting opportunities on its Instagram account throughout the contest. Participating schools will be featured on different days, giving their communities an opportunity to vote for their creations.

The two winning schools will each receive a brand-new gaming controller valued at approximately $100!

That means we need our students, parents, families, friends, and supporters to get involved. Every vote counts, and the more people we can get participating, the better our chances of bringing home the prize!

Let's show MSEA what the ÉDS Dragons community is capable of when we come together!

From the competition on the Rocket League field to the creativity on display in the Spooky Car Contest, there are so many reasons to be proud of our students.

Thank you to all of our families for continuing to support our program, encouraging our students, and helping create such a fantastic community.

We'll see you at Provincials, and hopefully we'll be celebrating a Spooky Car Contest championship along the way!
