The Drama Club is preparing for the 2025-2026 season. Registration will begin at the end of November.
We are currently seeking costume donations, specifically trench coats, briefcases, small suits, 1940s period pieces such as women's gowns, shoes, fedoras, and any uniforms or costumes. If you can assist, please reach out to Mme Alexander.
Your support is greatly appreciated!

FAQs
Who can sign up for Drama Club?
All Grade 7s and 8s can sign up for the larger stage roles. If there are spaces available, Grade 6 students can occasionally sign up for supporting roles as well as backstage work.
How do I get a part in the production?
Grade 7 and 8 students who can commit to the rehearsal schedule may audition for a part in the play. Auditions allow us to see which roles each student is best suited for. Because we aim to be fair and create the strongest production possible, roles are not guaranteed, and students may receive a different role than they auditioned for or may not receive a role.
How often and when is Drama Club held?
Practices twice a week for the first 2 months, then three times a week in the last month, as well as two full dress rehearsals the week leading up to Opening Night. Practices take place at school from 3:30-5:30 pm. This year, practices will take place on Monday and Wednesday evenings.
What if I miss a lot of practices?
We know that sometimes life throws us unexpected problems like an injury or illness, and we can discuss how to accommodate that if that should occur. However, actors in lead roles must sign up with the expectation of attending all practices and rehearsals. Attendance expectations will be addressed upon signing up, and a consent form will be sent home for signature.
When will the next program run?
Typically, the Drama program begins late November and runs until production at the end of February. Stay posted!
Will Drama Club conflict with other activities?
There are many extracurricular activities at ÉDS and we know it is hard to “do it all”. We have adjusted the dates to ensure the least possible crossover with other activities; however, we cannot guarantee that there will be no other activities going on during our program. Choose wisely to ensure you can commit to what you sign up for.
Do I have to be on stage to join the club?
No. There are many other important roles and duties that happen behind the scenes, such as costumes, make-up, audio-visual technology, advertising, and stage management. Look for postings in the school and sign up for what interests you.
What do you do with the money you collect from ticket sales?
In short, it goes directly back into the program.
Running a full production costs money. There are rental fees for equipment and costs associated with costumes, makeup, props, etc. Any money we collect from the production goes into our Drama account to fund the next year’s production.
We look forward to a fabulous new production in the the2025-2025 school year!
